Came for an evening meal, was definitely not disappointed. First time visiting a tepenyaki style restaurant, we were unsure what to expect but needless to say we were very excited about the experience. Our excitement and anticipation for the experience were not let down, from entering the restaurant you are greeted with friendly staff who help you to your table, which you share with other diners as you are of course sat around the cooking station, the interactive cooking show was fantastic and made the whole experience so memorable. Being able to experience something like this here in Newcastle is something myself and my partner won't forget, we understand that the Japanese enjoy the social aspect of dining and want everyone to communicate and have fun while they eat, we did just that. Our station chef was brilliant and kept us entertained. We decided to share our food and went for two banquet options, the mixture of seafood, sushi, chicken and steak was brilliant. Although some aspects of the restaurant seem a little dated and could use a little bit of attention the overall experience was not let down by this at all. We will be back with our children to share the fun and enjoyment of food! Thank you.

The food was exquisite, and the live, interactive cooking provided a wonderful experience. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and remained happily occupied throughout the meal. The staff were exceptional at making everyone feel included and ensuring a pleasant time for all. The fresh, delicious food was cooked to perfection.

Love this place! If you've never been then you're missing out! Really wanted the yaki kaki oysters but they weren't on so I settled for the string of pearls set meal. My lass had the lunchtime banquet as did the kids.

I can’t express how much I stepped out of my comfort zone by visiting Hanahana. I knew what to expect and what I was signing up for, but I decided to go anyway, and I have no regrets. This restaurant offers more than just a meal; it’s a lively and engaging performance by the chefs. They actively involve you in the process, creating a fun and interactive atmosphere. Even if you're dining alone, like I was, they make an effort to ensure you feel comfortable and connected with others at your table. I highly recommend Hanahana if you’ve never been to this style of restaurant before. It’s not just a meal. It’s an unforgettable memory that will stay with me for a lifetime.

Absolutely great. They are doing a great cooking show, involving the customers. It's a live cooking done by experienced staff. The food tasted very well and they were taking care of special requirements. 100% recommendation.

The first time here, I opted for the sea food and meat set menu (not a big sea food fan), from start to fininsh to service was excellent. The food was amazing. I really enjoyed the lobster as the chef cooks and presents it in a way you can just enjoy it without all the messing about it. Egge fried rice was the best I've ever had, loved the free shots before we left, truly love this place, can't wait to get back.
